The Human RightS Initiative (HRSI) is pleased to announce an opening for fellow positions* for the academic year 2013–2014.
HRSI offers:
§ Fellows’ training program carried out and closely supervised by the HRSI Program Coordinator;
§ Hands-on experience in the field of human rights and civil society in a supportive environment;
§ The chance to gain skills essential for a future career in an NGO;
§ An opportunity to develop and implement your own projects with/for CEU students;
§ Experience in an international and multicultural academic setting;
§ Networking opportunities with NGOs in Budapest and in the region.
Tasks and responsibilities:
§ Planning and conducting a research project related to HRSI’s mission;
§ Completing the HRSI Fellow training program (10 months);
§ Implementing assigned projects under the close supervision of the HRSI Program Coordinator;
§ Participating in HRSI’s on–going projects;
§ Conducting research, making public presentations, etc.
The ideal candidate:
§ Is a current CEU student (graduating in 2013) or recent CEU alumna/alumnus (preferably 2011 or 2012);
§ Has a demonstrable knowledge of, and interest in, human rights and in the not–for–profit sector;
§ Would like to have a future career in civil society;
§ Has experience in non–formal education;
§ Has comprehensive organizational skills and is creative;
§ Has outstanding communication and interpersonal skills;
§ Is able to handle multiple tasks and perform under pressure;
§ Can work both independently and as part of a team;
§ Has innovative ideas for attracting students to HRSI activities.
